Privacy Policy

This policy explains what FelloSpace collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to fellospace.com, app.fellospace.com and the FelloSpace Android app. We handle personal data in line with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
What we collect
You give us
- Account details: your email, name, username and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google.
- Profile details you choose to add: photo, bio, university, course and year, gender and interests. Gender and interests are optional and used to personalise your feed.
- What you post: posts, photos, videos, replies, votes, messages in live rooms, and the spaces and universities you join.
- Applications: documents such as your CV and letters, and the applications you make.
Collected as you use FelloSpace
- Device and notification details: a notification token for your device, so we can send push notifications you've allowed.
- Basic technical logs: such as IP address, browser or app version and error reports, used to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
- To run FelloSpace: your account, your feed, notifications, live rooms and applications.
- To personalise what you see, such as posts, spaces and attachments that match your interests, course and campus.
- To keep FelloSpace safe: verifying employers, handling reports, and preventing spam, scams and abuse.
- To contact you about your account, for example password reset codes and important service updates.
We don't sell your personal data.
Who sees it
- Other users see your public profile and what you post publicly.
- Employers see your application and the documents you attach, only for the listings you apply to.
- Service providers that host and deliver FelloSpace for us (cloud hosting, content delivery, email delivery and push notifications) process data only on our instructions.
- Authorities, when Kenyan law requires it.
Storage and cookies
The web app keeps you signed in using your browser's local storage. fellospace.com doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. If you use Continue with Google, Google may set its own cookies under its privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete a post, it's removed from FelloSpace. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except what we must keep for legal or safety reasons.
Your rights
You can access and correct your details in Settings at any time. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Children
FelloSpace is for people aged 16 and over. If you believe someone younger has an account, tell us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a significant way, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
